The Coffin of Ahmose-Nefertari When unwrapped the mummy of Ahmose-Nefertari was found to have been damaged by tomb robbers, however her mummy was still in reasonable condition. Her mummy shows that she lived to an advanced age - 70. The mummy was found in an enormous wooden coffin (a type of coffin was common for the burials of the queens of the early 18th Dynasty). Unfortunately any gilding or precious stones that were originally on the coffin had been stolen by tomb robbers. The coffin also held the coffin and mummy of Ramesses III. |
