The Mummy and coffin of Seti II

19th Dynasty

Length of Coffin : 1.85 metres

Height of coffin : 0.27 metres

Seti II was found in the base of the coffin, which was re-used for his burial (it is not known who the originally owner was) - the names of Seti II were written by the restorers.

Height of the body : 1.640 metres

His mummy had suffered at the hands of tomb-robbers: his head had been broken off, the arms were broken too (the right forearm is missing).

Seti II was probably in his thirties when he died.

In the thick resin paste, that covered both the wrappings and the mummy, the fingerprints of the embalmers can be seen.
