The Tomb of Meyre (tomb number 4 at Akhetaten)

Meryre's tomb describes how Akhenaten presented Meryre with his titles:

Pharaoh spoke to him on this occasion with the following words: "Here I am present to promote thee to be Chief Seer of the Disk of the Sun, in the temple of the Sun of the city of Akhetaten. Be thou such, according to thy wish, for thou was my servant, who was obediant to the (new) teaching. Besides thee, none has done this. My heart is full of contentment because of this; therefore I give thee this office, saying, Eat of the nourishment of Pharaoh thy lord in the temple of the Sun."

scenes from tomb

The Royal Palace, the harbour of Akhetaten, the state cattle barns - also shown is Meryre at the Window of Apppearences being rewarded by the king, however this scene is unique in that Meryre is shown on the shoulders of his friends to receive his gifts. There are also two scenes showing the Temple of the Aten the first shows Akhenaten, Nefertiti and two of their daughters making offerings to the Aten (beneath the Aten is depiction of a rainbow), the second scene shows the Royal family entering the temple while music is being played by blind harpists and singers.
