The Coffin and mummy of Istemkheb

Who was Istemkheb ?

a daughter of the High Priest Menkheperre and the wife of Pinudjem II,

The intact and state of her mummy and coffins (as well as the amount of her funerary equipment) indicate that DB320 was the original burial place of Istemkheb.

Due to the excellent wrappings of the mummy it has remained unwrapped

Height of the body 1.568 metres.

The mummy was covered by two cedar coffins and a coffin board, all of which are decorated with funerary scenes (the outer coffin still retains its gilding).
