The Mansion of the Aten

The Central City

This was a much smaller temple than that of the Great Temple and was situated next to the "King's House".

Although this temple is practically a scaled-down version of the Great Temple, it does have its differences - at each of the four corners of there were towers which were finished off at the top with battlements- which gave the impression that the temple stood within a fortress.

A large sunshade platform stood in the first courtyard.

The main use of this smaller temple is thought to have mainly for the King and his family (given the close location to the King's House) - and it was here that the King's own worshipping of the Aten took place.
